The arrangements can be made over the 'phone or face to face and the deals are straightforward :

The purchase must be of brand new items (not used or ex-dem, I'm afraid) over £750 in total. Deposit is 10% (or more if you're mad keen) and we reserve the right not to make interest free finance available in addition to other offers.

Option 1 is 12 month deferred credit. You sign up for a three year credit deal with Hitachi which starts 12 months from the purchase date. If you settle the full outstanding before the commencement of the credit term, no interest applies. They write to you to remind you of the situation prior to the interest-bearing period commencing.

Option 2 applies if you would rather avoid the "gotcha" element and are happy to pay the outstanding off over the first year. In this case it is straightforward 12 monthly interest-free repayments, again with a 10% initial deposit.

Purchase price £2795. Depost of £279.50 amount of loan £2515.50 12 monthly payments of £209.62 APR 0.0%

or

Purchase price £2795. Depost of £279.50 amount of loan £2515.50 36 monthly payments of £107.84 APR 19.9% Monthly payments will commence after 12 months and be payable on the same date in each subsequent month.

Clear the amount in full before the start of the interest-bearing credit and you will pay no interest.
