Taktlink REV-Stylus 01 – Made in Japan
CONCEPT
The REV-STYLUS 01 is built on three key development concepts:
1. Superior Sound Quality: The cleaner not only ensures thorough cleaning but also enhances audio performance.
2. Simplicity and Effectiveness: As long as the recommended usage method is followed, there’s no need to check the stylus tip under a magnifying glass—the cleaning process guarantees a spotless stylus.
3. Large Cleaning Surface: The adoption of a large sheet surface ensures the stylus tip is consistently and accurately captured during cleaning.
Formulation and Testing Process
Our cleaner uses a completely water-based solution with three types of water-soluble cleaning agents—no volatile solvents like alcohol are used. During development, we discovered that while all three components provided excellent cleaning power, even a 1% change in the mixture ratio significantly altered the sound after cleaning.
For example, a mixture ratio of 33%/34%/33% compared to 34%/33%/33% could drastically change the audio output. Over a two-year development period, we tested 83 different formulations, balancing strong cleaning ability with optimal sound quality.
The final formula was a breakthrough—remarkably superior to all others. It delivered a full-bodied sound, excellent low-frequency resolution, and outstanding clarity.
The usage method is simple:
1. Apply 2–3 drops of REV-STYLUS 01 cleaning solution to the desired area of the cleaning block.
2. Gently slide the stylus over the textured open-cell urethane sheet a few times.
3. Allow the stylus to air dry naturally before playing a record.
This straightforward process ensures a thoroughly clean stylus with minimal effort, enhancing both sound quality and ease of use.
Next Steps:
1. Gently press the cleaning block’s open-cell urethane sheet, which is moistened with the cleaning solution, against the stylus tip.
2. Be careful not to apply too much pressure, as this could cause the cleaning block to rub against the generator part of the cartridge.
3. While keeping the cleaning block lightly in contact with the stylus tip, slowly slide it straight toward you. Make sure to stay within the area where the cleaning solution was applied.
4. Repeat this sliding motion 4-5 times to complete the cleaning process.
By following these steps, you can effectively clean the stylus without risking damage to delicate components.
Additional Information and Precautions:
• The cleaning solution contains 10 ml, allowing for approximately 60-70 uses.
• During cleaning, never slide the cleaning block backward (away from you) after contacting the stylus tip. Doing so may damage the cartridge.
• Do not use this product on antique cartridges or those with weakened adhesive or hardened dampers. There is a risk of the stylus tip detaching, which could lead to damage.
