Description
Neat Acoustics Ultimatum MFS Loudspeakers.
These stand-mounts feature isobaric bass loading. This involves having two bass drivers running in tandem.
One owner from new, supplied by us. Full working order. Condition is pretty damned good with a few minor marks visible in the photographs.
With twin upward facing ribbon tweeters, a forward facing Focal inverted dome and two bass drivers, one behind the other, there is a lot going on in these birch ply cabinets.
The internal shot of the current version, the XLS, gives a fair idea.

With stands, these were priced at over £4000. The newer XLS comes it at well over £7000.
Whilst the loudspeakers and stands are in fine fettle, the plywood packing case that contained them is not. Stored in a damp outbuilding, it has suffered terminal rot.

Reviews March 5, 2009

The Ultimatum MFS loudspeaker has earned yet another five-star review. This time it’s What HiFi? magazine doing the honours, reviewing its first ever Ultimatum model. They summarise;
” Once in a while we come across equipment that doesn’t merely replay the signal fed to it, but actually sounds as if it’s enjoying itself. That’s these Neats all over. We love them.”
The Ultimatum MFS loudspeaker has received a stunning review in the March 2009 issue of Hi Fi World magazine, scoring top marks of
5 ‘globes’, their highest available rating. The magazine describes the MFS as being;
“Unerringly musical and consumately enjoyable, this is one of the most engaging standmounters we’ve heard at the price.”
