Unusually, the summer this year seems to have been with us for ages. Complaining about hot dry weather seems churlish, but . . . phew!

One job undertaken in the blazing heat was the delivery of the above Linn Majik / Selekt system ordered to arrive on our customer’s birthday. Customer very happy indeed. It all looked and sounded terrific in their converted barn.

Congratulations and thanks from us!

Power Up your Naim

Here, the offer is rather more subtle but the gist is that, if you can use an NPX 300 power supply, we can make it more affordable. This runs until 17th August.

Upgrading from, say, 200 to 300 level components can also be achieved on better than normal terms if done at the same time. Capiche?

After a year or two of customers looking for workarounds, Naim has integrated compatibility with this popular high end classical and jazz streaming service.

For now, the update only applies to NSC222 and NSS333 streamers. It works in a similar way to the ‘connect’ system with Spotify, Qobuz and Tidal. Coincidentally, the sound quality offered on 222 and 333 seems to have been improved quite significantly. After the update has been applied, it’s best to power down the system fully at the mains for a minute or two and re-boot.

Updates will follow for other ‘connect’ enabled streaming units such as NDX2, ND555 etc.

Presto itself is an interesting proposition, presenting music in a calm, uncluttered and very informative way. a quick listen last night indicated that sound quality could be very beguiling.

We are still digesting the full sonic impact whilst awaiting the inevitable social media backlash that always accompanies streamer updates.
