Today we’ve been doing our first customer demonstration of the new Tiger Paw Javelin on the Stratos alloy plinth assembly.

Set up with Linn Kore, Lingo 4 and using a Dynavector DV XX2-MkII, Trilogy 906 phono stage into the Naim NAC252 / NAP 300 DR pre / power, the results were deeply enjoyable.

It’s an impressively neutral, clean yet muscular sound. Very spacious too. Despite the step down in phono stage and power supply, overall performance was up quite dramatically on the customer’s XX2-II / Akito / Radikal / Urika combo into his similar amplification. A new arm had been on the agenda anyway but a full Tiger Paw make-over is now going through his number crunching process. In for a penny!

Unlike the comparatively scary Naim Aro, cuing the Javelin is a joy. In fairness, Aro handling is an acquired skill. All the same, it’s nice for this unipivot to feel to utterly normal. Built, fit and finish is characteristically exemplary. A thoroughly wonderful arrival . .  in our utterly unbiased opinions!
