Autumn 2025 news: time for some fresh, monochrome, bull 🙂

I really must be careful with my flippancy!

First piece of news is that an upgrade initiative has been launched by Naim to ease and encourage the process of moving from ‘old platform’ streaming products to the latest ones.

Not only do the newer products offer the convenience of access to the latest ‘connect’ services from Qobuz, Tidal and even Spotify (if you really must) but they also sound considerably better than the previous generation units.

The evolution of streaming?

Playing with Innuos’ new Stream One device via their impressively clever ‘Sense’ App a few weeks ago led me to scrawl off some waffle about the evolution of streaming. What innuos have done strikes us as being very clever indeed.

We should receive our Stream One device this coming week with Stream Three due soon after.

If you can spare the time, you may find this explanatory article to be interesting.

Best of all, until 31st October 2025, Innuos are offering an incentive to upgrade to their new products. Click on the above banner to find out more.

Focal Bathys MG

One of the surprises of recent years was the Focal Bathys bluetooth wireless headphones with noise cancellation. These redefined what can be expected from such a compromised idea by sounding remarkably accomplished and musical.

True to form, an upgraded version, now with magnesium drivers, has just come along to usurp them. Priced at £999, and in a fetching shade of chestnut, the MGs are a noticeable improvement over the originals.

They are available in our shop or they can be auditioned at St Cecilia’s House.

A couple of days ago, we had a visit from some senior managers from Dynaudio one was the Managing Director. It was an interesting session, with the conversation encompassing what products best suit the audiophile buyer. Hard on the heels of the release of the award winning Confidence 20A and the Focus series before that, there seemed to be some sense that the future could well be heading more in the direction of active loudspeakers.

After some tea, they were taken into a couple of the demo rooms by Kevin. There, they listened to two different Linn and Naim systems through, initially Contour Black edition and, latterly, a more serious Naim system through Confidence 30.

Out of nowhere came the observation that you could really hear the different electronics behind the loudspeakers and they were surprised at how large these differences were.

I realise that we come over as Dynaudio fanboys, but this easy to drive but revealing nature is why we are so hooked on them. If you can cope, there is a Paean of praise, please click the banner image above.

Melco Audio are changing their name to Dela. It’s a bizarre tale of ‘MELCO’ being used by another, larger Japanese company as a contraction of their name. Despite a history extending back to the 1960’s Melco agreed to make the change.

The upshot is that there will be some deals to be had whilst we refresh our demonstration stock. Judging by the popularity of our ‘deals’ and ‘ex dem’ pages, you all know where to look!

Sugden Samhain @ Signals

At the end of October, we will be holding a Sugden Audio event. Friday 31st and Saturday 1st November.

Kevin has spotted that the Celtic Pagan name for Halloween was Samhain. Nope, me neither.

Anyway, this should confuse the hell out of the search engine algorithms!
