Rather counterintuitively, the Black Cube Statement is the budget version of an already high value phono stage. It, nevertheless, aims high.
Much of what the Black Cube phono stages are well known and famous for is now available at an even more affordable price point. This applies to parts and build quality as well as overall audio performance. The Lehmann audio Black Cube Statement has been introduced to set standards again.
The Lehmann audio Black Cube Statement phono stage is compatible with practically all available cartridges on the market from high output MM to MC. Apart from the standard switch settings there is one onboard slot that can be fitted with a custom impedance to supply perfect termination even for the most exotic cartridges. There is a double sided circuit board and it comprises audiophile Burr Brown gain stages.
The entirely passive RIAA equalization network uses high precision foil capacitors. Only Low ESR electrolytic caps are used throughout the circuit. All resistors are of the low noise metal film variety. The DIP-switches for gain and load settings have gold plated contacts. Power is provided through an external over rated AC adaptor.
Because of the small outer dimensions the Black Cube SE can be placed next to the turntable.
The case of both the audio section are made of nonmagnetic material (aluminium) and the top cover is coated with a special anti-resonance treatment. I think it’s called powder-coat paint.
