Description

Something Solid used to make absolutely cracking loudspeaker stands. Mark Orr, the man behind the brand, has been retired for a few years, now, but his products are bringing joy to many. We bought a few sets when we knew he was wrapping things up. This is the very last of them.

Arguably, these stands sound better than they look but the fairly rustic wrought iron appearance has proved to be part of the appeal too. The speakers are intended to be supported by the four corners on little carbon fibre pads. The stands were originally envisaged for small speakers but they ended up being the default choice for chunky Harbeths too.

This pair are sized for Russell K Red 100s but will also fit a fair number of other loudspeakers. These were sitting, boxed, in our stockroom. Power coat finish is a sort of soft graphite colour.

Height 58.5 cm to top of the carbon pads, just over 60 cm with spikes.

Support area for loudspeaker 27 cm x 26 cm.

Supplied boxed in the original packaging, one stand was lifted out simply for photography.

The second picture is of a smaller pair to give you a better idea of the general appearance.
