Description
Special 40 Rev II
Celebrating 40 years of existence, Dynaudio have done what they’ve done at at key moments in the past and thrown all their latest tech into a ‘celebration’ product. The Special 40 is, as the name suggests, genuinely special.
It was also astonishingly successful and, with the original run of grey or red edge grain veneer cabinets exhausted, they have come up with two new unique finishes.
Right from the first series, sound quality was a real surprise. All the more so because we were impressed with them when we thought they cost around £4000. Turns out that they are quite a lot less (£2800), so I guess this makes them a bargain!
Dynaudio’s Stand 20 seems to be a good match. The SolidSteel SS6 stands are really good with them too. Stand 20 in white, silver or black is currently being offered with special 40 free of charge.
The new finishes, Ebony Wave or Black Vine are very striking and fantastically well finished.
