STAX Omega 007 headphone package comprising SR-007 Mk 2 ear speakers s/n SZ3-2210 and SRM 007t (for tube) energiser / preamp.
Serial number for the SRM 007t is DZT 4462 and both were manufactured in February 2017. 21st Feb for the ‘phones and 24th for the energiser.
This is a very high end system and, given a suitably capable source, it can give stellar results. Link Stereophile review here
Condition of the ‘phones is very good indeed. The headband elastic feels a little soft but the relaxed fit on the head is very familiar from back in the day when we sold STAX products.
The energiser has picked up a few ‘nicks’, the worst of which is right in the middle of the top edge of the fascia. Nowhere to hide that one, I guess. What was a surprise is how good these sounded. Once upon a time we dealt with STAX and these sound better than I recall from these distant days.
This particular package is out of production, so pricing it has involved looking at sold figures on ebay and, well, extrapolating. We think the figure we’ve reached is a fair one.j
